Teen Dies After Veering Off Tampa Road

At 12:29 a.m. Wednesday morning, Max Maza, 19, was traveling eastbound on Busch Blvd at approximately 50 MPH on his 1998 Honda motorcycle. He accelerated from the stop light at Linebaugh Avenue and looked behind him to see if the other motorcyclists he had interacted with at the light were following. He ran off the road and crashed into a light pole just off Busch Blvd.

Maza was wearing a helmet and suffered serious injuries. He was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:45 a.m.

He had no driver’s license and no motorcycle endorsement.
