A man was arrested Sunday on charges of Petit Theft after walking right into armed police deputies.
At about 8:32 pm, several uniformed deputies were already on scene and standing outside the front entrance of the Citgo Quick Mart conducting an unrelated investigation that occurred in the store parking lot.
During the same time, 28-year-old Emmanuel Camper was inside the store and walked out right into the presence of the deputies. As he exited, deputies heard a store clerk yelling that he was stealing beer.
Camper was already intoxicated and failed to see the deputies standing near the doorway and marked patrol units with overhead lights on parked outside the door.
He was arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail.
