Tampa Fire Rescue was called out to the Andover Place Apartments at 10202 Altavista Ave in New Tampa.
The caller reported that a child had fallen from a third floor window of one of the units. Upon arrival Tampa Fire Rescue paramedics began examining the child and saw that she was alert and showed no obvious signs of injury.
As part of protocol paramedics called for an AeroMed helicopter to transport the patient to Tampa General Hospital as a trauma alert.
The child’s current condition is unknown. According to paramedics who responded, they were told that the child was jumping on a bed near the window and fell out of it.
The mother was home at the time.
