Student Arrested After Stabbing At Jennings Middle

On Wednesday at approximately 8:45 a.m. deputies responded to Jennings Middle School at 9325 Governor’s Run Drive in response to a stabbing, police said.

It is unknown what transpired prior to the stabbing or why it occurred.

Michael Johnson, 16, was armed with a 4″ serrated steak knife and stabbed the victim, 15-year-old Neco Gainey, in the back.

The victim was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries, police said.

Michael Johnson was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center on aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon on school grounds.
