2nd Case of Flesh-Eating Bacteria Confirmed

10 News says they have confirmed a second case of a flesh eating bacteria in Sarasota County in the past month. The two victims are middle aged and had compromising health conditions. One man has died.

Doctors say the bacteria vibrio vulnificus can cause a flesh-eating condition known as necrotizing fasciitis. The bacteria lives in warm, salty waters and although the infection is rare, doctors say that swimmers should take precautions.
