Pinellas Park Carjacker Caught

Four law enforcement agencies are looking for the suspects who carjacked a hospital employee early Tuesday morning. Cross Bayou Elementary School was placed on lock-down.

Pinellas Park PD, Largo and Clearwater police officers and Pinellas deputies want to find two men who grabbed the employee’s car at the Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater at about 4:26 a.m as she arrived for work. The victim backed into a parking space and had her windows down. Two men, one with a gun, threatened her to get out. She did as told, the two men got in and drove off with her 2010 Chevrolet HHR. The victim was not injured.

She called police, and shortly thereafter a BOLO was issued. A Clearwater Police officer spotted the car on U.S. 19 and began trying to follow it. Other jurisdictions were notified south of here and the car ended up exiting U.S. 19 at 66th Street. It then took a right on 94th Avenue, which is a dead-end. That is where they crashed into a fence, jumped out of the vehicle and ran. The search continues for the duo.
