According to police, last night at approximately 7:10 PM, three vehicles were traveling eastbound in the inside lane of Gandy Boulevard approaching Snug Harbor Road NE.
A pedestrian was standing in between the outside and inside lane of eastbound Gandy Boulevard at Snug Harbor.
One of the drivers, 49-year-old Christopher Joseph Russo, was unable to see the pedestrian until moments before and despite an attempt to swerve left to avoid a collision, the front right of the vehicle struck the pedestrian.
After getting hit, the pedestrian fell into the inside lane and was struck by two more vehicles successively. Those driven by 37-year-old Fakher Fawzy Shenouda Guirguis in and 34-year-old Ramy Nabil Flay Soliman.
The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and expired at the scene of the crash.
