Palm Harbor Botched Drug Deal Results In Fatal Stabbing

At approximately 1:40 a.m. this morning, Pinellas County Deputies responded to a stabbing call in Palm Harbor.

Upon arrival, deputies aided victim Francisco Antonio Caraffa, who had been stabbed multiple times. Bayflight arrived at the scene a short time later and took Caraffa to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A man, identified as James Jennings, had sold Caraffa fake narcotics prior to the altercation, police said. At Caraffa’s residence later in the evening, he confronted Jennings about the quality of his drugs. The confrontation escalated and eventually turned physical. After a brief skirmish, Caraffa thinking he had only been punched, noticed an exorbitant amount of blood on his clothing. It turned out he had been stabbed multiple times by Jennings.

A K-9 unit found and arrested Jennings, who admitted to the confrontation but denied stabbing Caraffa.

He is being held in the Pinellas County Jail without bond as the investigation continues.
