Things To Do Around Orlando For This Weekend

It’s the first weekend of December and it is officially the holiday season. This weekend there are a number of things to do to get the family into the holiday spirit around Orlando.

The Park Avenue Merchants Association is hosting Winter on the Avenue on Dec. 2 to bring more people to the avenue. Park Avenue will also be closed down to traffic on the same night as the city’s tree-lighting ceremony.

City of Orlando Tree-Lighting Ceremony kicks off the holiday season on Dec. 2nd when Lake Eola Park switches on it’s nearly half-million holiday lights in a festive radiance. The city’s Christmas tree will be an artificial one for the first time and stands at 60 feet tall and has 22,000 white LEDs.

ICE! Featuring A Charlie Brown returns to Gaylord Palms this weekend through January 1st. The exhibit will include Alpine Rush and Cosmic Snow Tubing, Mrs. Claus’ Holiday Traditions, a storytime/singalong show, Santa’s Snow Throw, “Cirque Dreams Unwrapped” show, the Gingerbread Decorating Corner, Elf on the Shelf scavenger hunt, and Build-A-Bear Workshop.
