Second Person Caught Trying To Enter Disney With Gun

Mobile Woman Arrested With Loaded Gun At Disney

It seems that Walt Disney World has been in the headlines this week for gun violations. On Monday a second person was arrested for having a loaded gun on Disney property.

23-year-old Baleigh Turner of Mobile, Alabama was arrested by Florida authorities after they found a loaded handgun in her backpack at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

The pistol was found at the front gate by a Disney employee. Officials say the gun, a .380 Taurus pistol, was in a holster with a magazine holding six bullets when it was discovered. However, none of the bullets were in the chamber of the gun.

Per a Disney employee’s request deputies responded to one of the bag check tables around 11:20 a.m. Tuner then told authorities she had a weapons permit issued in Alabama where she lives.

When the deputy called the issuing agency in Alabama he was told Turner’s concealed weapons permit expired on Jan. 29, 2016. The deputy then arrested Turner on a charge of carrying a concealed firearm without a valid permit.

Turner is the second person to be arrested for trying to bring a loaded gun into an Orlando Disney theme park. On Monday, the same day, a Louisiana man was arrested and banned from all Walt Disney World properties for attempting to enter Epcot with a loaded gun tied to his waist.

Michael Langston told deputies he had forgot to leave the firearm in his room and didn’t want to take the time to go back to his room to drop it off. He was discovered when he tried to go through the park entrances’ no-bag line and was picked by a Disney employee to go through the metal detector.

Turner does not have a criminal record in Mobile County and is being held on $2,000 bail.
