ORLANDO – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an apparent hit-and-run incident that killed a 3-year-old outside of an Orlando apartment complex.
Officials say Yeliani Schwartz-Ojeda died Friday night after being admitted to the hospital with injuries that doctors said were consistent with being struck by a car.
The child’s mother called 911 on Friday and told authorities her child was hit by a car in the parking lot of the Grandview Point Apartments. She attempted to drive the child to the hospital herself before being told to pull over and wait for first responders.
Authorities have no information on the vehicle that was involved.
