A Tampa police officer was injured and taken to the hospital after an altercation with a suspect this morning.
Police have confirmed that the officer was struck by the suspect’s vehicle, while a second officer opened fire, hitting and injuring the man.
Officers pursued the vehicle and took him into custody at Chelsea Street and 39th Street.
