What kind of salary will it take to buy a home in a big U.S. city? A new study from mortgage research research group HSH gives an idea. The list ranks the country’s largest cities by required salary size. On top is San Francisco, where it takes an annual salary of more than $137,000 to buy a median-priced home. Number two is San Diego, where you need to earn more than $98,000, followed by New York, Los Angeles and Boston. At the bottom of the list: Cleveland, which requires a salary of nearly $30,000.
