MIAMI STILL LOOKING FOR RIDE FOR HIRE SOLUTION

Miami-Dade County continues to have problems with the ride-for-hire industry and is looking to other cities for examples of how to legislate the growing businesses. The Miami Herald reports the county has given at least 36 fines and impounded at least seven vehicles of Lyft and UberX drivers. The companies allow customers to hire freelance drivers using smartphone applications. The companies are in violation of local regulations that legislates taxicab and limousine services.

BOATERS RESCUED AFTER HOURS IN THE WATER

Two people have been rescued in the waters near Hallandale Beach hours after they fell off their boat in Key Largo. The Coast Guard Sector Miami says an off-duty detective and firefighter found Sean McGovern, 50, and Mellisa Morris, 52, early Saturday morning. The pair said they fell from their 30-foot Island Hopper boat and were distanced from the vessel around 6 p.m. Friday. They treaded water throughout the night until being found.

TEEN KILLED BY CORAL GABLES POLICE

A 17-year-old runaway is dead after he was shot by Coral Gables police during a stolen car sting. Jason Carulla was shot after ramming a stolen silver Toyota Sequoia SUV into an unmarked Miami-Dade police car Thursday The Miami Herald reported the Coral Gables officers were part of a new, undercover Strategic Initiatives Team investigating stolen vehicles. The unit was working with Miami-Dade officers to solve a rash of vehicle thefts in and around the north end of Coral Gables. Officers received a tip that Carulla would be receiving a stolen vehicle at the Flea Market USA parking lot on the east side of Hialeah.

MAN ARRESTED AND CHARGED ON 16 SEX COUNTS

A Tampa Bay area man has been arrested and accused of sexually battering a girl for years. He is charged with one count of sexual battery of a child less than 12 years old, five counts of sexual battery by a person of familial or custodial authority, five counts of sexual performance by a child and five counts of possession of child pornography.

INTERNET PORN ENTERTAINER ARRESTED FOR SEX PARTY WITH UNDERAGE GIRLS

Miami-Dade police have arrested and charged a teenage internet porn entertainer after video of a sex party with three underage girls appeared online. Nineteen-year-old Bianca Byndloss was arrested Thursday and charged with three counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a minor and promoting sexual performance of a child.
