Man Wanted For Attempted Murder

Winter Haven Police have obtained a warrant for the arrest of 25 year-old Byron Nigel Swan for three counts of Attempted First Degree Murder charges after a shooting in broad daylight on Monday resulted in two men injured. Swan
is considered armed and extremely dangerous.

On Monday at approximately 5 p.m., Swan approached a vehicle with three occupants in the area of 5th St., NE and Ave. O, NE in Winter Haven. The three men were stopped with the door open speaking to someone outside of the car when Swan approached and began firing into the vehicle. Swan was recognized by one of the occupants of the vehicle.

Two of the occupants were struck and the third drove the injured men to the Winter Haven Hospital Emergency Room. One victim was treated and released while the second was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center where he underwent surgery for his injuries. He remains in the hospital in critical, but stable condition.
