Boynton Beach police arrested a man who sped away from a traffic stop, hitting a police officer in the hip in the process, according to the Palm Beach Post, citing a police report.
Gerald Blue, 38, was stopped for speeding. Police smelled marijuana at the traffic stop, of which Blue admitted to smoking. He allegedly told police “Man, I’m going to my momma’s house.” and sped away from the officers.
Authorities were able to cut him off and cuff him.
He’s facing charges of fleeing and eluding an officer as well as aggravated battery on an officer. Right now he’s in the Palm Beach County jail on $16,000 bail.
