Largo Man Charged With Fleeing Crash Scene

A car hit a parked car and mailbox before breaking through a pool enclosure and ending up in the pool Tuesday night. The car’s driver fled the scene but has been caught, according to Clearwater police.

Clearwater Police were called to the 1500 block of South Prescott Avenue about 8:15 p.m.

The car’s driver, a 24-year-old male, and his passenger fled from the scene police said. The driver was caught a couple blocks away, and is being questioned.

Police identified the driver as Kyle Strecker of Largo, and he is charged with leaving the scene of a crash with property damage.

Strecker was driving westbound on Prescott Avenue when he lost control of the car.

Police say the car suffered $1,000 in damage and the pool’s enclosure about $10,000.
