The Tampa Bay Lighting rallied in Pittsburgh last night to beat the Penguins 4 to 3 in overtime. The Lightning now have a one game lead in the best of seven series, 3 games to two. Game 6 is tomorrow night in Tampa at the Amalie Arena at 8 o’clock.

Supporters for Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders sat side by side, as the Florida Democratic Party picked its final delegates to the national convention in Philadelphia. The selection process was held Saturday before a fundraising dinner with party leaders. But neither Clinton nor Sanders has locked up their party’s nomination, so much of the message was about building opposition to likely Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – Alan Grayson has been dubbed ‘Angry Alan’ by his Senate opponent, compared to Republican Donald Trump for his penchant for earning headlines with his mouth. He has become the whipping post for some of the Washington establishment hoping to defeat him in Florida’s primary. But the congressman said this weekend that at least he isn’t being compared to Adolf Hitler.

Shooting Overnight in St. Pete. Officers received reports of shots being fired about 2:40 this morning outside the Hollywood Nights Club, on MLK Street S. Witnesses say the shots came from vehicles driving around and near the parking lot and roadway. Two separate victims showed up at Bayfront Health a short time later. One woman is in critical condition and a man was grazed and has minor injuries. Detectives are questioning witnesses.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) _ Records show that more Florida college students are paying double for excess credit hours. The fees are usually paid by students who change majors and end up surpassing the hours needed for a degree. Those who earn excessive credits while seeking double majors must pay the fee upfront and then get reimbursed after graduation. According to an analysis of school records, about 3,770 students were charged about $2.35 million in excess credit-hour surcharges during the fall 2015 semester at the University of Central Florida, University of Florida, Florida State and South Florida.

SANFORD, Fla. (AP) _ Authorities say someone broke into an unmarked Sanford police vehicle and stole a handgun, shotgun and bulletproof vest. The Sanford Police investigator was watching a softball game Saturday afternoon when someone broke through the back window of his vehicle. The vehicle had only been there for less than an hour. The investigator’s department-issued Sig Sauer 9mm handgun, vest, badge, at least one handcuff key and a radio were taken along with the officer’s personal Remington 12-gauge shotgun.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) _ Two University of Central Florida professors have been awarded $900,000 to study how astronauts’ memory and attention spans change during long missions in space. The grants were part of a $12 million pool for research into the effects of long duration spaceflight on visual impairment, bone and muscle loss, human performance, cardiovascular health, and sensory and motor adaptations. NASA believes the research will help astronauts when they eventually get to Mars.

UNDATED (AP) – Officials say a 50-year-old woman and an 11-year-old girl have been hospitalized after they were bitten by sharks in separate locations in Florida. Multiple news agencies report the first incident took place Saturday after the girl was swimming at Huguenot Memorial Park in Jacksonville on
Saturday. The second attack took place Sunday afternoon in Vero Beach, about 200 miles south of the first incident.

KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) _ Fishermen in the Florida Keys say they had a steady and productive stone crab season. Peter Bacle of Stock Island Lobster Co. said that compared with the last few seasons, production was up 25 percent this year and the claws harvested were “unusually large.” State wildlife officials say that for the past several seasons, the Monroe County stone crab catch has had an estimated value of $11.5 million.
