Interview: One Found Dead In Duplex Fire

AM 820 News anchor Robert Pankau spoke to Shyann Malone of WTSP 10 News about a duplex fire in Pasco County. A body was found inside. Officials don’t know if this is suspicious or not.

At 1:45 a.m. Friday, Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputies and Pasco County Fire Rescue members were called to a structure fire at Raintree Apartments, 37750 State Road 54 in Zephyrhills. Once on scene, a duplex was found to be engulfed in flames.

Fire rescue members brought the flames under control by 2:09 a.m. and discovered the body of one person. Authorities are attempting to identify the victim and an investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway.

No other injuries have been reported.

There was one other person inside the duplex when the fire began. That person was unharmed.

Three people inside the adjoining duplex escaped without injury.
