No, it isn’t just your imagination. You are paying more for life’s necessities, including shelter, clothing, food and gasoline. And many of the price increases are startling.

Rather than relying on anecdotal information, a researcher at Texas A&M University has studied the real costs of living in 2014 and put numbers to it.
