Interview: California Chrome Looks To Make History

By now you know the backdrop as we head into horse racing’s final jewel of the Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes. California Chrome, who won both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes outright, goes for the history books, hoping to become the first horse since 1978 to win the Triple Crown.

Aaron “Longshot” Katersky of ABC News joined Chris Markowski and I on Your Wake Up Call to talk about California’s Chrome’s chances of winning Saturday. We also talked about this horse’s unusual rise to greatness, including a difficult birth and the fact that his owners, Steve Coburn and Carolyn Black, are somewhat outsiders in the sport of horse racing.
