House Committee Investigates GM’s Cobalt Problems

AM 820 News anchor, Robert Pankau, spoke with ABC News Correspondent, Aaron Katersky, this morning about an in-depth investigation into problems affecting GM’s Chevrolet Cobalt. A House committee sent letters to General Motors and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Monday night demanding extensive records. GM has recalled more than 1.6 million cars worldwide, including Cobalt models in which several people were killed, after reports that the vehicles suddenly turn off while being driven. The defect is linked to 13 deaths. The issue is why it took so long for GM to reveal the defect, and whether action was taken in a timely manner.
