A Hernando County Sheriff’s detention center corporal and his girlfriend face drug charges.
Authorities say Corporal Mitchell Sim and Jean Hoek illegally bought 10 Oxycodone pills for $250 from an undercover informant while investigators looked on from a distance.
Sheriff Al Nienhuis reacted to the corporal’s arrest saying, “I am outraged and disappointed in the behavior of this individual. His actions unfairly hurt the stellar reputations of his fellow Detention Deputies.”
Corporal Sim is on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.
