Officers Have Cleared Elementary School
Lakeside Elementary School has been cleared by Pembroke Pines Police Department after an early morning bomb threat was made. The school is now reopened for students and staff.

Police reported that it was a false alarm and that nothing suspicious was located on the school grounds.

Bomb Threat Made At Lakeside Elementary School

Parents who usually drop their children off at Lakeside Elementary are being asked to instead take them to nearby Walter C. Young.
Parents of students at Lakeside Elementary School are asked to respond to Walter C. Young Middle School for further instructions.

According to police, shortly after 5:30 a.m. Monday morning authorities received information about a bomb threat at the elementary school. Police are actively searching the 900 NW 136th Avenue location, confirmed at 8 a.m.
Police say the staff at Walter C. Young, located at 901 NW 129th Avenue, will give parents additional instructions and details to the situation.
Right now further details of the threat are not clear.

Previous Bomb Threats In Florida
This bomb threat comes days after Legoland Florida, in Winter Haven, was evacuated due to a bomb threat as well. After searching the theme park and resort police gave it the all clear. Authorities are actively searching for the person who made the false threat.
Just last month there was a bomb threat made at the Miami-Dade College Kendall campus. That threat was made via a phone call and pinpointed one or two buildings, but due to this day and age of heightened security the whole campus was evacuated.
Bomb threats seem to be more frequent and police do not take any threat lightly. Charges can be filed against anyone that makes a bomb threat, even if the threat turns out to be false.
