Man Found Dead in St. Petersburg Home

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office have a St. Petersburg Homicide Investigation in progress and they are looking for your help.

The victim’s name is Landy Martinez-Esquivel and detectives are attempting to identify three individuals.

Police say one of the individuals was going door to door soliciting for college funds. He is believed to have been in the neighborhood sometime between 10:00 and 10:30 yesterday morning. This individual is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s with bushy hair and they believe he was in the neighborhood and may have seen two men walking in a fast pace and heading east on 57th Avenue.

Detectives think that while in the neighborhood, this young man may have seen two other individuals who were reportedly walking east on 57th Avenue at a fast pace.

These two individuals are described as:

1) White, Asian or Hispanic male in his 20s wearing baggy jeans.

2) White, Asian or Hispanic heavy set male possibly in his 40s.

Deputies found the body of Landy Martinez-Esquivel, 21, when they went to his house at 5476 57th Ave. N., at about 10 a.m. to check on him, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. When no one answered the front door, they went behind the house, where they found the back door open.

They went inside, where they found an interior door ajar. They found Martinez-Esquivel’s body in one of the bedrooms.

Detectives are trying to identify three individuals who were in the area Wednesday morning.
