Man Faces Manslaughter Charge in Friend’s Death

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) _ Police have arrested a man who told them his friend had shot himself during a game of Russian Roulette.

The Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/QgXgcm ) reports 25-year-old Donnie McLendon died Tuesday almost three days after he was shot in the head at a home in St. Petersburg. Police arrested 29-year-old Thomas Wade Rady on a manslaughter charge Thursday.

According to police, Rady and 22-year-old David McKee initially said an armed man ran into the home and shot McLendon while they were drinking and smoking marijuana.

They later said they had been playing Russian Roulette and the gun went off during McLendon’s turn.

Officials say an autopsy raised inconsistencies with their story.

Investigators learned that they had not been playing the game and that Rady fired the gun accidentally.
