Lecanto – The Florida Department of Health in Citrus County invites the public to an open house February 20 2014 from 10: 00 am to 2:00 pm at the Lecanto Office, 3700 W Sovereign Path Lecanto FL 34461.
Come meet our professional staff of experts and see our new mobile medical unit. Information will be available on a wide variety of health topics such as: nutrition, food safety, family and women’s health, dental health, tobacco
prevention, disaster preparedness, immunizations, information on the importance of health screenings, meal planning and diabetes and environmental health risks.
Environmental health activities focus on prevention, preparedness, and education and are implemented through routine monitoring, education, surveillance and sampling of facilities and conditions that may contribute to the occurrence or transmission of disease.
Free blood pressures screenings and anonymous HIV testing will be available. Applications will be available for volunteer positions within the health department. The first 100 people will get a free pedometer.
