Florida Could Put Woman in Prison for 60 years for Firing Warning Shot in Self Defense

Marissa Alexander, a Jacksonville woman, won a retrial after being sentenced to 20 years in prison for firing a “warning shot” in the direction of her violent husband. Now she has been told that her jail term could be tripled if she is convicted again.

AM 820 News anchor, Roger P. Schulman, spoke with Attorney Jose Baez about the case. Baez is an American lawyer and New York Times Best Selling Author who has handled a number of high-profile cases, both nationally and internationally, but is best known as the lead attorney for Casey Anthony, who was acquitted of murdering her 2 year old child, Caylee, in July 2011 after a trial that attracted significant national and international attention.
