NAPLES PACKING PLAN WORKERS HEADED BACK TO COURT AFTER RAID

Workers from a Naples vegetable and fruit packing plant are headed back to court as they face charges related to alleged workers comp fraud. The case stems from the raid of a packing plant where more than 100 workers were detained, most of them presumed to be in the country illegally. The workers are expected to enter pleas Monday.

MIAMI DADE POLICE TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE ABOUT SLAIN NY RABBI

Authorities are planning to release more details about the slaying of an Orthodox rabbi who was shot as he walked to a Miami temple during a press conference Monday morning. Miami-Dade police say 60-year-old Joseph Raksin was shot Saturday in what appeared to be a robbery gone badly. Authorities said there was no indication the shooting was a hate crime.

CHERISH PERRYWINKLE’S MOM HEADS TO COURT IN ATTEMPT TO REGAIN CUSTODY OF 2 DAUGHTERS

The mother of an 8-year-old Jacksonville girl who was abducted and slain will return to court this week in an attempt to regain custody of her two other daughters. In her first extensive interview in nearly a year, Rayne Perrywinkle told the Florida Times-Union that she didn’t give her daughter to the suspect and that she isn’t a drug addict. She longs to speak out about the rumors swirling on the internet but says she’s limited because prosecutors told her not to say anything that could hurt their first-degree murder case against Donald James Smith.

FLORIDA FAMILY GETS DEATH THREAT AFTER FACEBOOK PHOTO OF DOG HANGING FROM JUMP ROPE

Officials say a Panhandle family has received more than 500 hundreds death threats after posting a Facebook photo showing a dog dangling by its haunches from a jump rope pulley system. The photo shows two young girls in a vehicle with the dog. Loretta Bozeman, the girls’ grandmother, was charged with cruelty to animals for posting the picture. Family members say the girls were re-enacting an animal rescue from a TV show.

NATIVE MIAMI RAPPER PITBULL GETTING OWN CHANNEL ON SIRIUSXM

Rapper Pitbull is getting his own SiriusXM radio channel. The channel will feature a weekly show hosted by the Miami native along with music from multiple genres which Pitbull says reflects the tunes he grew up listening to. Pitbull’s channel is scheduled to debut in early 2015.
