As Temperatures Rise, Some Panhandle Bridges Reopen

PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) — Temperatures are on the rise and the layer of ice and dusting of snow that hit the Panhandle earlier this week is beginning to melt.

Emergency officials reopened some bridges that had been closed since Tuesday night, but say others will remain closed until all of the ice melts.

Temperatures are expected to climb to near 50 degrees in the western Panhandle on Thursday.

It has been more than a decade since snow ice or snow covered the region. The last time the area had a dusting of snow was in 2010.
