Bank Robber Released from Prison in November Robs Again

Tampa Police Detectives are searching for the bank robber who robbed the BB&T Bank on March 13th.

Prior to the March 13th robbery, Danny Ray Madison had been recently released from Federal prison after serving 10 years for bank robbery.

In November of 2000 he committed five bank robberies in Downtown Tampa.

The first bank he robbed in 2000 was the same bank he robbed March 13th, 2012.

The BB&T at 400 North Tampa Street was robbed by Madison on March 13, 2012 at 9:04 a.m.

Madison entered the bank and stood in line while the teller assisted another customer.

After the customer left, the suspect gave the teller a note demanding money.

The note also implied that he had a gun.

The teller provided the suspect an undetermined amount of cash.

He calmly exited the bank on foot.

No one was harmed during the robbery.

Anyone with information about the robbery or who recognizes the suspect is asked to call the Tampa Police Department at 813-231-6130.
