Interview: The New American Airlines Are Flush With Money
Just months after merging with smaller competitor US Airways and less than a year out of bankruptcy, American Airlines has reported its highest quarterly profit in company history.
Second-quarter net profit was one-and-a-half billion dollars, minus special charges.
It’s good news for American Airlines shareholders, who will receive their first cash dividend since 1980.
