Interview: Iraq Militants Seize Second City Of Mosul

The situation in Iraq continues to deteriorate, as the nations Prime Minister urged Parliament on Tuesday to declare a state of emergency. The request came hours after militants seized control of portions of Iraq's second-largest city, Mosul, and freed up to 1,000 prisoners. Authorities said the militants were also in control of the citys airport, local TV stations and the governor's offices. Security forces are accused of abandoning the city when the fighting began. Nuri al-Maliki described the Mosul unrest as a dangerous security situation requiring immediate measures to protect civilians.
