MH17

An international team of investigators has finally managed to reach the crash site of Malaysia Airline MH17 for the first time since it came down in eastern Ukraine over two weeks ago.

Clashes along routes to the wreckage site between government troops and pro-Russian separatists had kept the delegation from reaching the spot to retrieve bodies that have been lying in open fields.

The team’s also there to collect evidence from the debris field. The Ukrainian government had announced a “day of quiet” Thursday to ensure the safety of the team, though reporters on the scene say clashes were ongoing in the area.
