Guests Taste Way Around World At Epcot Food and Wine Festival
The 2013 International Food and Wine Festival is in full swing at the World Showcase in Epcot where guests can taste their way around Epcot’s usual countries like Canada, Japan and Mexico as well as many extra country stations set up for the festival.
Three newcomers to the Food and Wine fest this year are Scotland, Africa and Brazil. At the Scotland pavilion, guests are offered a taste of seared Scottish salmon with cauliflower puree, watercress and malt vinaigrette ($4.50) and the option to try a 12, 15 or 18 year Scotch ($15).
Despite having to spend a bit of money on park admission plus the prices of all the foods there are to try, many families look at the food and wine Festival as a tradition and a way to travel the world without leaving the country. Frequenters of the Disney parks, the Handwerk family from Pennsylvania enjoys coming to the Food and Wine Festival. They attended on the opening day of the festival this year to celebrate the 21st birthday of daughter, Stevie. Stevie’s sister Ryan says that the festival is more than just good food and drinks, but a learning experience as well.
“The food and wine festival offers a bigger variety of different cultures and allows us to experience their culture in new ways,” she said “I really enjoyed the festival.”
The Food and Wine Festival also offers stimulation for the ears as well as the taste buds with nightly concerts featuring bands like The GoGos, Boyz II Men and Hanson.
