Weekend Things To Do Around Orlando This Weekend

Orlando is ramping up for the holidays and there are tons of things to do with the family this weekend, check it out:

Parade

The city of Sanford Parade of Lights takes place Saturday at 6 p.m. The parade will feature a special guest: the famous Budweiser Clydesdales fully hitched. This family event will take place outside the Sanford Civic Center and is free to everyone.

Daytona Beach Christmas Boat Parade will take place on Saturday and starts at north side of the Seabreeze Bridge and ends at the Daytona Marina and Boatworks. There will be a party on City Island featuring food trucks,vendors and music. The parade starts at 5:30 p.m. and judging of the boats should occur around 6 p.m.

Food

Wine and Chocolate Festival is coming to Clermont. Local artists and crafters come to display their work. Guests can enjoy live music on an outdoor stage all weekend while enjoying Lakeridge wine, beer, soft drinks and food. The festival will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. 1-800-768-WINE www.lakeridgewinery.com

Art

“The Nutcracker” by the Orlando Ballet beings this weekend at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, 445 S. Magnolia Ave. Tickets start at $29. Visit drphiliipscenter.org for more information.

 

“The Nuthouse” is an edgy version of the Nutcracker that will be performed this weekend. The show will be performed at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at ME Theatre, 1300 La Quinta Drive, Orlando. It costs $20. 407-816-7080. dancetheatreoforlando.com.

The Classic Christmas program features Christmas favorites performed by the Bach Festival Choir, Youth Choir and Orchestra in the Knowles Memorial Chapel at 1000 Holt Ave., Winter Park. There will be two shows on December 12th and 13th. Tickets start at $25. Visit here for more information.
