Fast Food Workers To Go On Strike
Labor organizers have announced that they have planned a nationwide fast-food workers strike for Thursday, and they will increase the pressure by staging civil disobedience and have thousands of home-care workers join in.
Fast-food workers are seeking a $15 hourly wage, and the plan is to go on strike in more than 100 cities, engaging in sit-ins in more than a dozen of those, prepared to get arrested. Workers and union leaders further hope to broaden the movement by having home-care workers, who also contend they are underpaid, join the protest.
