Disney has announced that plans are in the works to create a movie based on the multi-cultural theme park ride, ‘It’s A Small World’. They made the announcement in the wake of the famous ride’s 50th anniversary. The movie will be directed by Jon Turteltaub and produced by Jared Stern and Lego Movie’s Dan Lin.
Turteltaub’s most frequently works with comedies or adventures such as the National Treasure series (the third installment of which was just announced), and many outlets are speculating that the ‘Small World’ project could reflect this style. Others, however, are citing that Disney will try to duplicate the success of the Lego Movie and make an animated comedy. Not much is known about the film as of now but Disney has said that it has the potential to be a franchise.
