At 7:56 pm on Saturday, March 8th, City of Bradenton Fire Department crews responded to a report of a structure fire at 1631 4th Avenue East, fire rescue said. Upon arrival at 7:59 pm, the first responding units found smoke and flames visible from a first floor window. Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the room of origin and brought the situation under control at 8:20 pm.

There were no reported resident injuries but the resident’s dog was found deceased. The two residents were not in the home at the time of the fire but, due to significant heat, smoke and water damage, they will be assisted by the American Red Cross.

The incident is still under investigation by the Bradenton Fire Department and the State Fire Marshals Office, though arson signs have been posted as the result of suspicious circumstances.
