Alex Sanchez – President and CEO of Florida Bankers Association to speak at 16th Annual City of Tampa Mayor’s Latinos Unidos Luncheon and Scholarship Fundraiser
Tampa, Fla. (February 14, 2014) – The City of Tampa Mayor’s Hispanic Advisory Council is pleased to confirm its keynote speaker for the 2014 Latinos Unidos Luncheon, Mr. Alex Sanchez, President and CEO of the Florida Bankers Association (FBA). This is the 16th anniversary of the luncheon and a milestone for Tampa Bay Hispanics to be proud of, as the proceeds from this event will go towards funding the City of Tampa Mayor’s Hispanic Advisory Council scholarship programs at various institutions in Tampa including University of Tampa, University of South Florida, and Hillsborough Community College.
The luncheon will take place at noon on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Tampa Convention Center in downtown Tampa.
This year’s keynote speaker is an inspiration for young Hispanics looking to better themselves through education with hopes to reach the American Dream. Alex Sanchez is the first Hispanic to become President and CEO of the FBA. The FBA is the leading voice for Florida’s banking industry. Mr. Sanchez’s responsibilities include representing and advocating for Florida’s banking industry before all legislative and regulatory bodies in Tallahassee and in Washington. In 2002, President George W. Bush nominated Mr. Sanchez to serve as one of the three Presidential appointees on the five people Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, of which he served for over 9 years.
We are proud to have the opportunity to showcase Mr. Alex Sanchez at this year’s Latinos Unidos Luncheon, which brings together Tampa Bay area Hispanics every year in an effort to promote the cultural and financial influence Latinos have in our communities.
